The BOW International 70 Metre Internet League

The aim of the league is to develop a form of competitive archery where clubs and groups of archery friends can shoot together in a relaxed atmosphere – at a pace they like – so as to produce their very best performance. The Bow is an international internet league. Details

It is similar to the mail match – but shot outdoors at 70m.

The rules are simple:

Ø  Format: FITA 70m round --- 72 arrows at 70m on a 122 cm target face using 10 zone scoring.

Ø  Timing: From Jan. 1 2012 until Sept. 30, 2012.

o   Victoria Bowmen will hold Bow 70m shoots on Thursdays at 6PM.

o   The schedule will be set up once we know how many archers are interested in participating.

o   You can also shoot and record scores at any time as long as there are two shooters and rigorous scoring.

Ø  Number of shoots: each archer shoots up to 6 rounds, the top 3 scores count toward a total aggregate score. You can shoot and record scores as often as you like by submitting scores under an alternative name.

Ø  Scoring:

o   Score sheets will be provided – or can be downloaded from the Bow website.

o   Declare that you are shooting a Bow before you start scoring

o   Use rigorous scoring – ask yourself how a judge would score it in a tournament

o   Each round must be double scored and signed by both archer and witness.

Ø  Classes: Men, Women, & Cadet - Recurve / Compound / Longbow / Barebow. You can shoot as an individual, or can set up and submit scores as a team.

Ø  Fee: To cover the cost of targets the fee for each round shot is $2, or $10 for the series.

Ø  Records officer: Rick Ellis will act as records officer for the club and submit archer’s names and scores to the Bow web page. Submit your score sheets to Rick.
